Middle-aged Man Sends Son to Military Camp!

In my post Lost Middle-aged Man Learns to Love Son’s Stinky Jersey, I subjected myself to constructive self-criticism for how I handled child discipline. Among other things, I scolded myself for threatening to send my son to military camp. A year and a half later, my son found himself at a military camp for two weeks!

Okay, in actuality, the camp was not a punishment. It was a thoroughly researched opportunity for growth. We are proud of our son for doing something like this. He comes from a long line of military service. Whether or not he serves, I am grateful that he got a taste of military life.
