Döstädning is a Swedish term meaning “death cleaning”. The concept is to clean out all of your stuff when you are elderly so that when you die, your loved ones aren’t tasked with the burden of going through and distributing all the stuff you left behind.
“John & Bev the Retirement Travelers” do an excellent job explaining döstädning in this video. To me, the biggest lesson of döstädning is just don’t accumulate so much crap to begin with, and it’s almost all crap.
