BRK-B, BROS Adjustments & News

A few weeks ago I added some BRK-B to my son’s Roth IRA and to our own accounts. Berkshire Hathaway subsequently reported a strong quarter, although insurance was challenged as expected. The stock popped to a multi-year high but has since cooled off a bit. Dutch Bros reported a very strong quarter on 8/5, and yet the stock cratered. Accordingly, I bought the dip for my son’s Roth IRA and our own accounts, ranging between 51.55 – 51.64. I also Bought To Close (BTC) my JAN 72.5 BROS calls; I had sold them for 9.40 and BTC at 1.55. January 15, 2027 is 5 months out, and I do expect the stock to rise significantly between now and then. I also BTC 3 of the SEP 75 calls I had sold; I sold them for 4.90 – 4.95 and BTC for .03–why not? I didn’t have any takers for my other SEP 75 calls at .03 nor did I have takers my SEP 80 calls at .03.
Dutch Bros opened its first Iowa location, yesterday, in Des Moines to massive crowds. Nice to see. As to the Salad and Go purchase about which I previously wrote, Dutch Bros copycat 7 Brew is trying to throw a monkey wrench into that acquisition by protesting the sale in the Salad and Go bankruptcy. A hearing on that is set for September 3rd. 47 of the 65 locations in the deal are in Arizona, where Dutch Bros has 650 locations and 7 Brew has 2. We’ll see what happens!
